Week three has become week 4 and I'm on a catchup mission.
Was easy enough finding and signing into LibraryThing. The hard part was coming up with the 5 books to add to my library. One's literary reputation could be on the line if the library community disapproved of one's reading choices!
There are so, so many places to venture on each page. Can become submerged or sidetracked discovering who else has similar taste. Always get a bit panicky thinking I may never find my way out of the maze! But overall it was interesting. Maybe I am getting au fait with this blogging lark!
The "Find Friends' tag was vaguely disturbing. Everyone seems desparate to be everyone else's friend in these virtual worlds!

Week 3...blogging on...
http://www.imagechef.com/ic/make.jsp?tid=Studio+Neon+Animated

Not sure if this is how I'm meant to include my link???
A little too absorbing and time wasting hitting on all these links. The more I delve into web 2 the more I realise I haven't time in my life for all this, fun as it is. My kids do this - I'm too old! I would rather talk face to face, on the phone or by email. Great to learn for work but I prefer rather more tangible, real forms of communication, tho I can understand the appeal. Was definitely easier than last weeks

Week 2
Spent considerably more time figuring this one out. Had to enlist some help from da IT heavyweights (you know who you are). Subscribed to some RSS feeds more by luck and mistake than well managed mouse work.
I do now know what RSS feeds are about, what they can provide me with and all the subjects I can link to. Not sure if my manager would be too happy with my having bloglines open all day receiving little flashes of interesting news that would distract me from my work tho'
I'm pleased week 2 is over and word is that from here on in it's a doddle. Straight from the mouths of aforementioned IT heavyweights - not sure if I'm convinced!
Now everyone can view the RSS feeds I chose and know how shallow and superficial I truly am......

bloglog - Week 1
Found the instructions pretty clear but spent some time wandering bewilderedly between screens.
However, now I feel foolishly smug having got this far and managed to stake myself a claim in 'blogland'
For all you 'blogmasters' who may wonder at the fear this excercise has generated in the less techno-minded of us, I would like to point out that we oldies have already lived through & survived many great changes in our long lives.
Decimal currency was a biggie, men on the moon incredible.
From filling our fountain pens and posting our letters, we've learnt to plough through our pending files and email our messages.
We've modelled everything from minis to muslin to microfibre and motored in Morris 1100s and hybrid cars
We remember when the only way to cook vegies was to boil the RSS out of them and now we microwave them in a FLICKR.
We've done overseas travel, astral travel and been far out & spaced out. This is just the next trip really!
So I guess here's a ride where the ticket's free. Jo'sblog is up and running so I'll be there...
